Ladies and Gentleman, may we introduce to you the man behind the microphone with the silky smooth and rockin’ vocal chords…. Mr ANDY DAVIDSON Esquire!!
Andy brings a wealth of experience and musical dexterity to our set up with a background as a professional musician and now a successful music school owner and tutor and has revitalised our set with a totally fresh take on some of our older songs as well as bringing some absolute classics to the set himself.
Andy has performed and written for signed original material bands and cover bands in the past and is nothing short of a complete performer. However it must be noted that he completely fell foul of Nick in our very first practise together – his crime so hideous and offensive in Nick’s opinion that our large shouldered lead guitarist could barely keep his renowned left jab under wraps!
Yes you guessed it, Andy dared to suggest that we cover a song without both A) Crunching distortion for the guitarists and B) A ripping and shredding guitar solo for Nick to play at 500 miles an hour with his eyes closed under a beam of light.
Andy’s simply superb suggestion of a play on the Bill Withers classic ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ may have brought scowls to Nick’s already less than handsome face, but after a few takes on the number even he could not deny it would be a great addition to the set. He might mutter under his breath occasionally at the lack of Slash style finger work in the tune, but he soon shuts up when we throw things at him across the practice room – Ladies and Gents, take note here for some good old audience participation at gigs!
Joking aside, Andy brings a completely fresh dimension to Last Anthem and his versatility is absolutely perfect for the bands set and sound. We suggest you take a trip to a local gig and see just what this man is capable of!
